Remeber an oscilloscope  is  a voltmeter,one that is capable  of  measuring very  fast  changes in the voltage.
A typical  meter  will just  blur out the  fast changes  into a general reading giving no diagnostic  information at all

dont skimp on service you may end up with no engine

Renault love making  their  engine layout  complicated  struth  just a  simple throttle  body  remobval  is  what you would call  involved to say the least.
